Eligible Work

Original 2-D work (paintings, drawings, pastel, collage, mixed media, monotypes, etchings, etc.) inspired by interior views created within the last three years solely by the artist.  Photography, digital art and commercial prints are not eligible. Work derived from other artists' work or created during a class, workshop or online tutorial is not original work and is therefore ineligible. Artwork must be no longer than 24" on either side including frame. All work must be framed or gallery wrapped (finished sides), wired and ready to hang. No sawtooth hangers will be accepted.

Application Process

A $15 entry fee entitles artist to enter up to 2 pieces of work

Photos of artwork must be submitted with the application.  Before uploading images be sure they are smaller than 4 MG, but at least 1920 pixels on the longest side at 72 dpi. Images should be in JPEG format and may be resized at https://imageresizer.com.  Applicants automatically consent to their artwork being used in promotional materials. Accepted artists will be notified on February 22, 2023, via email. Artists are responsible for any loss or damage to their work during this show. Artists are responsible for the drop off and pick up of work.

Juror and Awards

The Juror of Acceptance & Awards is Heidi Leitzke, visual artist & director of the Millersville University art gallery.   Two $100 Juror's Choice Awards and one People's Choice Award will be presented on March 3 at 6:30 PM in         the MH Gallery. 

 

Gallery Sales & Commission

Artwork must be for sale; 30% of all sales will be collected by Marietta Art Alive the arts-in-action team of Rivertownes PA USA 501c3. PA. Sales tax will be collected on all sales.

 

Drop Off/Pick Up Dates

Accepted work must be dropped off on Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 11-3, or Monday, February 27, 2023 from 5-8 p.m. at the MH Art Gallery, 42 W. Market Street, Marietta, PA. Unsold work must be picked up on April 3  from 11-3, or April 4 from 5-7 PM at same location.
