You will work from fresh flowers and photos and learn how to quickly interpret for, light and color with Sarah's signature loose and juicy painting style. Sarah will share her years of knowledge on materials, paint application, composition, life as an artist and “finding your light” in watercolor. This workshop is for all levels, but it is suggested that you have some experience using watercolor materials.
Bio
After an early career as a singer /songwriter Sarah eventually discovered the watercolor medium and knew that she had found her clearest creative voice. She has been painting with watercolors for 35 years and is recognized for strength of story and her ability to capture the fleeting qualities of light and its influence on form. Her years as a singer/songwriter flow through her process in the melodious and lyrical qualities of her paintings.
Sarah is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society .She collaborated with the Harlem based Elisa Monte dance company who choreographed an original dance based on her painting ”I’ll Fly Away” . Sarah was a faculty member for the Plein air Convention in Santa Fe as well as Plein Air Live in addition to being featured in the Elie Saab Paris Haute Couture runway catalog with her painting “Flight.”She has been a juror for The Western Federation of Watercolor Societies, The Northeast and New Jersey Watercolor Societies and been featured in Watercolor Artist Magazine, Pratiques Des Arts and the Art of Watercolor magazine.
Reserving a Workshop Seat:
Students must pay a $200 deposit in order to reserve a workshop seat. Eight weeks prior to the workshop, student will be billed for the remaining balance to be paid promptly.
Cancellation and Refund Policy:
Students who sign up for a Susquehanna Art Workshop can cancel and get a full refund up until 8 weeks prior to the workshop. Within the 8-week period, cancellation will result in a $100 penalty. Within 4 weeks of the workshop, no refund will be made unless another student is signed up to take his/her place.
